Are you sick of going to answer your phone only to see that you have a blocked call? Not knowing if it’s a telemarketer, crank call, or in some cases, a bill collector.
Worry no more. There is a new service called “TrapCall,” which allows cellphone users to uncover the Caller ID on blocked incoming calls. It lets you obtain the phone number, and in some cases it lets you see the nameĀ and address of the caller.
This service is offered by New Jersey’s Tel Tech systems and is basically a free unmasking service that gives you the option of blacklisting unwanted callers by phone number. This option will also allow you to listen to your voicemail over the web.
This service is currently available to AT&T and T-mobile subscribers and should be out with support from the other major carriers within weeks.
TelTech president Meir Cohen had this to say:
“It’s not meant for spies, it’s not meant for geeks, it’s not meant for any specific target audience. Everybody hates getting blocked calls, and in this day and age they want to know who’s calling, and they want the option of taking the call or not.”
