According to news sources, a Continental Airlines plane crashed late Thursday night; killing all 44 passenger that were aboard, along with four crew members.
Continental Flight 3407, which is operated by Colgan Air, had just left Newark, New Jersey when it crashed. The crash occurred about 7 miles from Buffalo Niagra International Airport.
The plane is said to have crashed into a home in Clarence Center, New York. It is being reported that one person was killed in the house and two others suffered minor injuries.
Twelve residents were evacuated from the immediate area. The airline released a statement saying:
“At this time, the full resources of Colgan Air’s accident response team are being mobilized and will be devoted to cooperating with all authorities responding to the accident and to contacting family members and providing assistance to them.”
It is not clear at this time what caused the accident.
