Hey all you baby boomers and pre-baby boomers! Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

Theodor Seuss Geisel, AKA Dr. Seuss, was born March 2, 1904 in  Springfield, Massachusetts. Some of you may ask who is Dr. Seuss?

Dr. Seuss was a famous American writer and cartoonist. He was most widely known for his children’s books. He published overr 60 children’s books. They were characterized by wildly imaginative characters and rhyme.

His most notable books and ones that I also loved are:

The Cat in the Hat

Green Eggs and Ham

One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

Although Dr. Seuss devoted his life to writing children’s books, he never had any children of his own. You may help celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading any one of his books to your children today.
