Mary Travers, one-third of the popular 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died after a lengthy battle with leukemia at a Connecticut hospital on Wednesday.
Travers’ beautiful voice helped carry the trio’s greatest hits including ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’, ‘If I Had a Hammer’ and ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’.
Peter, Paul and Mary were inducted into the Sammy Cahn Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006. Travers is survived by two daughters.
